so, maybe I'm lazy, but I just heard this song for the first time in forever, and thought I'd share...not that I think in song lyrics or anything...

"you hung the hopes of a world
on a shining star
ready to give just a glimpse
a little bit of who you are
when the heavens wink on a midnight clear
takes me back thirty years
and again i hear
glory, glory, angels sing
to the now and always King
glory to the One who brings
a little bit of who You are

i lay my head in a pasture bed
to this very day
there are few of us left to the Master's work
is it true help is on its way?
the faintest flickers above have gone
but a shepherd greets me with dawn
saying, "I am the One"

suddenly there's nothing left of Him
but a little light burning deep within me

glory, glory, angels sing
to the now and always King
glory to the One who brings
peace and life and everything"

lol-making progress on the ppr, but thought I'd post a quite random thing- this a quote from Taylor's new president's inauguration speech, and though its referring to the loss our university has experienced just a few weeks ago, I think its a great thought on grief in general

"To grieve is to allow our losses to tear apart feelings of security and safety and lead us to the painful truth of our brokenness. As we feel the pain of our losses, our grieving hearts open our inner eye to a world in which losses are suffered beyond our own little world of family, friends, and colleagues. It is the world of prisoners, refugees, AIDS patients and starving children" -Eugene Habecker

We're kidding ourselves if we think we've got things together - the only way we do is when we lean on Christ, so insofar as grief leads us to realize how broken we truly are, it is an incredible thing. Can't say it better than this(lol, quoting a song, par usual)

"I need you Jesus, to come to my rescue. Where else could I go? There's no other name by which I am saved- capture me with grace. I will follow you"(from a song by Newsong)

Please be in prayer for Taylor at this time. As you may have heard, we had a van crash on its way back to the university and we lost 4 students a staff member, and another worker. There are alot of people hurting here, so pray that the Lord would draw us closer to himself through all this.

"and even in the shadow of death I will praise you,
and even in the valley I will sing.

Holy, my God, You are worthy of all my praise.
Holy, my God, You are worthy of all my praise."

classes are over!! spring break!!! still, gotta clean up here and than head home. really liked this song we sung in chapel this morning
_________
If You say go we will go
If You say wait we will wait
If You say step out on the water and they say it can’t be done
We’ll fix our eyes on you and we will come

Repeat Verse

Chorus:
Your ways are higher than our ways
And the plans that You have laid are good and true
If You call us to the fire You will not withdraw Your hand
We’ll gaze into the flames and look for You
